More diaries of our favorite 18th-century Prussian diary-keeper have been unearthed and have been synopsized!

Date: 2022-09-02 06:11 am (UTC)B5: oh, if Trick or Treat isn't limited like Yuletide to exclude fandoms with a certain number in stories, excellent idea! BTW, there's a (very good) canonical B5 ghost episode written by Neil Gaiman still waiting for you, Day of the Dead (the sole non JMS written episode of the later seasons), but Neroon isn't in it, so there's no canonical obstacle to a request. :)
Yuletide: we should talk about candidates soon, due to me being on my travels starting with the 9th.

Re: Trick or Treat
Date: 2022-09-02 03:45 pm (UTC)So I'm thinking:
-Ship: Heinrich & Fritz
-Ship: Gundling & FW (I know, I KNOW, but that's how they say to format it)
-Ship: Katte & FW
-Character: Katte (that way if someone wants to request Katte/Fritz ghost stories they can)
-??
Indeed ToT does not restrict for rarity! I'll do B5 nominations; anyone you particularly want? I'm thinking
-Ship: Neroon/Delenn
-Neroon (I might request, not sure)
-Ship: Delenn & Ivanova (I'll probably request)
-Ship: Vir & Lennier (I'll probably request)
Kinda weird, I love that ToT has single-character requests but B5 is definitely a show where I actually want specific relationships and not specific characters nearly as much.
Trick or Treat doesn't have to be ghost stories, either :) I'm just saying! (The stories are supposed to be "treats" or "tricks" but it's sort of a vague thing, and I think it's OK if a story has elements of both... which I guess most stories do...)
Re: Trick or Treat
Date: 2022-09-02 04:35 pm (UTC)Katte solo for Fritz/Katte shippers: good point.
If ToT accepts 18th century RPF as opposed to having to narrow it down to Frederician RPF, then I would like to throw a few Habsburgs in. I mean, between the separate organs burying and the French Revolution, there's definitely potential. (And hey, I already wrote Ghost MT & Fritz.)
How about: Isabella of Parma & Mimi (Maria Christina) & Joseph: Isabella dies, but it's not the escape she imagined, and she tries to get back to Mimi, but Mimi (one of the more emotionally stable people in that family) has moved on. Joseph hasn't, but Joseph is the last person she wants to talk to at first. Though being frustrated on the Mimi front, she gives in to the anger she could never voice towards him and haunts him - only to discover he actually is fine with haunting, as long as he can still sense her. Maybe there's even life force trading (and an explanation for Joseph's early death)?
And/or: fairy tale motives plus Habsburg burial practices - Isabella has already given her heart away (while living, to Mimi), so when she's dead and they want to take it out for extra burial, they can't find it, and she's not at peace until Mimi returns it?
Marie Antoinette, having ended in a mass grave post beheading, searches for her children as a ghost, but for plot reasons (secret Habsburg pact/curse) her ghost isn't in France, it was drawn back to Vienna at the moment of her death, she tries to communicate with someone there so they can rescue her kids, but alas it only works with dying people. In a blatant Amadeus crossover, the first of these is her childhood aquaintance Mozart who really tries to get that opera and requiem finished...
B5:
Character: Bester (has a lot of potential ghosts to haunt him, hence the character not limited to a specific relationship, and he did canonically scan (several) dying people, which is a pretty dangerous thing for a telepath to do as there's always the possibilty you or a part of you don't come back... (will request, but could also write)
Ship: Londo & Vir: here I have a spoilery to you prompt/idea

Date: 2022-09-03 10:24 pm (UTC)I would like to repeat that it doesn't have to be a ghost or explicitly Halloween or spooky story, any more than a Yuletide story has to be about Christmas :) (Mostly because, well, if I write a B5 story it will probably not be a ghost story, except possibly metaphorically, and I wouldn't want you to be expecting one :) ) Of course ghost/spooky stories are welcomed, though! :D
Aw, man, I would LOVE that Marie Antoinette/Mozart crossover <3
Oh boy, Bester, yeah, better nominate him just because he is so much fun.
Argh, this is a problem with me requesting B5 -- buuuut I think the rewatch will be almost done by reveals, so I could
...does this mean I can't read all your prompts :P
Re: Trick or Treat
Date: 2022-09-04 08:57 am (UTC)And okay, good to know it doesn't have to be spooky. And you know I would welcome any B5 story by you!
Marie Antoinette/Mozart: I hoped you might, but argh, I just checked, and she died in October 1793 while Mozart was already dead in December 1791! V. inconvenient. She'd have to haunt Salieri instead...which doesn't have the poignancy of a reunion with someone last seen as a child the same age in Schönbrunn... or sister Mimi, since Maria Christina doesn't die until 1798.
