Oct. 31st, 2022 10:42 pmwell, this has definitely been a great Halloween, E got to go trick or treating with a group from her class and A went out with D and --

trickortreatex????
I got three stories! and all three of them are so different and they are all SPECTACULAR and you should all go read them and shower the authors with love and comments because THEY ARE SO GOOD
Also I have not read all of them yet but ToT also has SIX Babylon 5 stories stories and I am so pleased about this!
But back to my gifts <3
The one that, I think, can be read without canon knowledge is not about Frederick the Great but rather about his abusive dad, Frederick William. The one whom I keep saying about that I forget how bad he is because my brain goes "but surely no one would be that bad?" And then he IS that bad! Anyway, I think this can be read canon-blind, as the background you would need is given in the fic. It's a brilliant and horrible ghost story about abuse, the lies abusers tell themselves, and the way abuse propagates, with a heart-stopping ending. I mean... if it wasn't clear... all the warnings! (Not AO3 warnings, but... there's a lot of abuse, much but not all of it physical abuse, some of it really over-the-top.)

Summary:
In S4 I fell super hard for Delenn and Neroon and their snarky banter, both as a political pair doing twisty maneuvering together, and also as a shipas Neroon would never let Delenn get away with the kinds of things Sheridan and Lennier let her get away with. And I got this awesome story that is both them being a political pair doing twisty maneuvering together and also is a hot ship and has lots of delightful Minbari worldbuilding and has lots of awesome political-shenanigans banter, and it is just everything I could ask for for this pair!

Summary:
We only got a couple of scenes between Vir and Lennier in canon, but I adored those enough that I asked for Vir & Lennier, and I got this just amazing gem of a story that unfolds like a flower about how their friendship develops over canon, with Vir and Lennier just always being there for each other and helping each other, with humor and excellent food/drink descriptions and so much warmth and wisdom and some just gorgeous hurt/comfort and their friendship is just so great, I love it so so much, Lennier in particular super needs a platonic friend, and so does Vir, and this fic gives them both what they need. And I loved the ending <3 (Spoilers for "Objects at Rest," but this is noted in the Author's Notes.)
