Novelette rec from psocoptera which will be going on my ballot which I am filling out right now, darn it:

To Embody a Wildfire Starting, Iona Datt Sharma, Beneath Ceaseless Skies.

I mean... basically I will just read anything by Iona Datt Sharma and put it on my ballot if reminded; they are just so thoughtful and always asking interesting and compassionate questions. This is a secondary-world fantasy about demi-human-dragons (it's not at all like Earthsea but I think it's a little in conversation with it) and rebuilding after seizing power back from an extremist takeover, and I really liked it.

ETA: Also of note for nominators is that Spear (Griffith) is a novel, not a novella as I had thought!

Did you read The Mimicking of Known Successes? I didn't love it as much as I loved the Infomocracy trilogy (a high bar though), but I thought some people here are likely to have read it.

...I am ashamed to admit I have not even read the Infomocracy trilogy. But I see that the library has at least the trilogy, so I may be able to rectify this while waiting for Hugo nominees to come out :D

YES I loved To Embody a Wildfire Starting and I absolutely nominated it too!!! I am always impressed Iona Datt Sharma's writing, and this one is particularly good I think
