Re: Yuletide surprise
Date: 2021-10-30 02:25 pm (UTC)Well, I shouldn't try to write a new fic this year, but I have something lying in my drafts folder that I might pull out and polish for her. It's not like I'm ever going to write the fix-it fic WIP that it's part of.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and we'll see what happens!
Speaking of Yuletide surprises, may I remind you that I didn't sign up for Yuletide 2019, and I nonetheless got a wonderful Madness gift that still makes me laugh, so any Roman emperors, or sugar daddies, or others that anyone might feel inspired to write about, will find a good home in Yuletide Madness 2021.
hint hintThere's precedent, is what I'm saying. ;)Re: Yuletide surprise
Date: 2021-10-30 05:17 pm (UTC)Yeah definitely do this! :D I'm still sticking to my resolution to read awesome historical RPF fic instead of writing it this year, but I will volunteer to beta (although there is a distinct possibility that I'll be traveling the week before Christmas, so, yeah, not up for betaing 30k this year at the last minute probably)
BTW, for, um, anyone who might be interested, the Madness solution is not just precedented but also mod-approved :) From https://yuletide-admin.dreamwidth.org/89653.html :
Works in Madness do not have to precisely fit the fandoms and characters requested by a person in 2021. They do not have to be for a person who was signed up or pinch hitting this year. However, each work must be a gift for a specific person (or people) and you must have reason to believe it would be an appropriate gift for that person, as well as appropriate for a rare fandoms exchange.

Yeah definitely do this! :D
Stop enabling me! Why do people not want me to learn German and publish articles?! :PP

I was definitely planning to rope you in as beta if this happens. And fortunately for both of us, the draft scene I have is closer to 1k than 30k. :P
