Re: The unknown heroics of Seydlitz
Date: 2020-06-05 07:29 pm (UTC)But for Fritz and Heinrich, it‘s pretty much ideal because yes, feelings were never running higher! In addition to the already named circumstances, there’s also this: Fritz is in a adrenaline high position of having won the (extremely bloody) batlte of Zorndorf, his first against the Russians, and he just basically rescued Heinrich by returning in time (since Daun was on the march from one side and the Reichsarmee from the other, figuring they’d go for Heinrich’s smaller part of the army in Saxony while Fritz was busy with the Russians). So this is pleasing from Fritz pov, BUT otoh, Wilhelmine is dying even though he wants Heinrich to tell him she’s not. And while visiting Wilhelmine may or may not have calmed Heinrich down somewhat, a present Fritz whom he’s supposed to report to, you know, which is what AW was supposed to do when coming to Bautzen to be casheered is very much a different thing form an absent letter writing Fritz. And hey, once Seydlitz leaves, they‘re canonically alone, so: a gift of a set up.
Re: Mitchell, he should have asked Seydlitz first, but - wasn‘t this when Seydlitz was on sick leave again, this time more seriously, and was busy acquiring a nurse?
