OK, I laughed out loud at this recitation of Fritz' woes. It's like the greatest hits of crackfic-that-is-actually-real-life-history!

Actually, speaking of crackfic:

YES, that makes it even better. Like, is it actually important that your sister met with arch nemesis? Objectively, NO. In Fritz' POV: IT IS SO IMPORTANT I'M NOT SPEAKING TO YOU ANY MORE.

It's the I often don't know myelf whether I should love or loathe me that makes it extra special. Although I also the Designation "der einzige König" for Fritz, aka "the One King" in my translation, because the literal "the only King" doesn't have the same ring in English as it has in German.

Ohhhh, I didn't catch that and I really like it! (And now that you mention it, I do have some context for the translation of that -- via (of course) opera, Schoenberg's Moses und Aron which seekingferret convinced me to watch (and then write for him) a bunch of Yuletides ago, lol. ( Einziger, ewiger, allgegenwärtiger, unsichtbarer und unvorstellbarer Gott!)

Yes, that's exactly the kind of einzig we're talking about! BTW, managed to find a digital copy of the dedication of Trenck's memoirs in German that's not the cut down to one volume edition at Gutenberg, and there the dedication to Fritz' ghost also includes the phrase "dem einzigen König" - i.e. to the one king. Btw, not reading that edition now, my time is limited and I already had the one volume edition, but I have something else Trenck-related to you, in another comment.
