...We'll have to do an evidence post. But I think that's fine. Worst thing that happens is that they split it up into Young Fritz & Friends and Older Fritz & Enemies (or whatever)

Just saying, "Older Fritz and Frenemies" is an awesome fandom! You could get both Joseph and Voltaire in there! \o/

"18th Century Frederician RPF" as the title? This means it includes young Fritz and old Fritz both, and any friend, foe, relation or frenemy. The 18th century nominer is for potential Readers who don't know what the hell we mean by "Frederician". And there's precedent with "Elizabethan" and "Georgian", after all!

Next: how does one do an "evidence post",

cahn? In all my years of participated, I've never written in a fandom that needed one.

Also, let's note down the nominations so far:

cahn: Maria Theresia, Wilhelmine, Elisabeth Christine and Joseph.

mildred_of_midgard: Fritz, Katte, Peter Keith, ? - Catherine maybe (sans Peter III it should be safe), or Voltaire?

self: either Voltaire or Catherine depending whom Mildred doesn't take, Anna Carolina Orzelska (outside/inside pov, and interesting no matter what did or did not happen between her and Fritz), Sophia Dorothea and... drumroll… Fredersdorf (he did meet Fritz relatively briefly after Katte's death, after all, so should come in handy for H/c scenarios).

Fredersdorf is a good choice; I was thinking of him for h/c purposes for exactly that reason! I was also thinking of Sophia Dorothea and the Countess Orzelska, so good to see them on the list.

Catherine vs. Voltaire doesn't matter to me either way, especially if we're just dividing them between us. I can take Catherine and you can take Voltaire?

If we weren't limited to 4, my other choices would be Algarotti, and, um, Fritz's dogs. :P

Of course, the best part of all this is that FW has been dropped like a hot potato. :D

Well, anyone tackling young Fritz probably won't get around FW anyway, at least as a threatening shadow in the Background, so there's no reason to extra nominate him.

Okay, Voltaire it is! Am now really curious whether there will be Fritz/Voltaire frenemy stuff. Ideally, we could tempt someone who's an expert in Voltaire, which I'm decidedly not, alas.

More or less agree, and also he doesn't need to be on screen, so I wouldn't necessarily want him as a character. Plus I think it's possible to write a Fritz/Katte getting-to-know-each-other fic or a PWP or something without even alluding to FW. Let them be happy for an hour!

Morbane or other mod will make an Evidence Post in yuletide-admin with the format to follow, usually fandom, possible issue with the fandom, and why the fandom should be considered eligible.

I think the possible issues that might be iffy here (and the reason why we should probably make a post) are that a) mods might not understand what "18th Century Frederician RPF" means (er, since we, or you, kind of made it up, though I agree that is absolutely the correct way to go about it) and b) to argue that all these people (e.g., Voltaire, Catherine, Maria Theresia) do fall under that umbrella even though to someone who doesn't know any of the history *two-months-ago-me raises hand* the set of characters may sound kind of eclectic).
