We finally watched this after many many delays (and then I was super behind on posting, so...). Some great stuff, some... weird stuff.

-Lews Therin Telamon was great, I really liked him, Would Watch More Flashbacks

-wtf with Nynaeve being all "Moiraine has a tell which I know and you, Lan, do not, despite the fact that ONE of us has an actual JOB that involves tracking and ALSO has known Moiraine for a whole bunch of years, and that person is not me," at least maybe, like, tie it to the One Power or something?? I would have bought that!

-Agelmar and Amalisa. So I felt like they kind of did a good job in getting me to start caring about them and the defense to Fal Dara, and then they killed them both immediately?? Not a fan! (D told me they didn't die in the books, at least not at this point.) Also this seems to leave Fal Dara in not a great place for the second wave of Tarmon Gai'don :PP

-D pointed out that it makes NO SENSE for Amalisa to be doing some sort of weird One Power thing in the middle of the desert after everyone else has already been killed?? Maybe this would have been more helpful BEFORE all the men got killed?? (I mean... I could see ways you could set this up, but they didn't seem to take any of those.)

-All this being said, I REALLY REALLY liked that Rand's arc and denying the temptation centered on accepting Egwene was a person with her own feelings and desires. That was AWESOME.
D: "That part was definitely better than the books, which had more of the eyes of fire thing going."
Me: "Join the Dark One and ...you too can have eyes of fire?"
D: "It wasn't a very convincing argument!"

-I really, really liked... D and I thought it was Ishamael? Anyway, he was *great* and I am hoping he shows up more, D and J have assured me that he will

-I continue to be very meh about what they're doing with Perrin, although I've seen some critique of him standing around while Padan Fain makes off with whatever, and honestly I don't fault him for that because that's the sort of dorky bone-headed thing I'd do too if I were trying to decide between two courses of action and was super conflicted about it. But it doesn't seem to make for good TV that I'm interested in watching.

-Moiraine and Lan continue to be the relationship on this show that I actually care about

-I think the rules on when people can resurrect other people need to be a little more clear. I feel like on this show sometimes people can bring other people back to life, but it's never quite clear when or how or what the rules are? Like, why not everyone? Why did everyone EXCEPT Kerene get resurrected in that previous episode? (Yeah, I know, she'd gotten killed a little earlier while everyone else was only mostly dying... but Nynaeve looked pretty dead?) Why only Nynaeve in this one? (I really liked Amalisa, okay, anyone could have a moment where they became a megalomanic once they got absolute power roaring through them, right?? :P )

J pointed out that in the books, learning how to do the One Power weaves is a whole skill set that has to be learned (and that one of the cool things about Nynaeve is that she kind of figured out how to do this on her own). Which is super cool and something that I would have thought even a loose adaptation would want to borrow.

-D was annoyed about everyone getting split up again. I must say given that I mostly care about the Aes Sedai at this point, I don't care except that it means more screen time for random characters when I want mooooore Aes Sedai :P

-The worldbuilding doesn't really fit together for me... like, we're *told* that Fal Dara is sacrificing itself to send a message to the White Tower, but I wonder if seeing the message being sent might have helped? I feel like there's a lot of set pieces in terms of set building and groups of people, so for example you get this cool-looking set design for Fal Dara, but I don't have the faintest idea how it integrates into the wider world.

I agree with a lot of this. And now I'm amused imagining the messengers from Fal Dara arriving with their grim news, and then two days later there's another messenger "actually the whole army was destroyed. Yep. Mostly by a few women, most of which weren't even powerful enough to become Aes Sedai and the others had never been trained. There was a lot of lightning."
