Exactly!! It is annoying (even though it doesn't affect E directly this year, except that she worried a lot about the cutoffs because she felt she might be on the borderline, which I am convinced would not have been the case in the absence of cheaters) because I know there are kids that it does affect! In our case I'm pretty sure it affected kids we know, which is an additional layer of annoyance. (I don't talk to those parents about this kind of thing, so I don't know whether they know about any of this. One kid/family probably doesn't unless E has mentioned it, which I bet she hasn't; the other kid may or may not be on AoPS forums -- if so, he may have an inkling.)

Calculators aren't allowed, but WOW. So I must confess part of my brain is thinking that the ingenuity of that is pretty nifty. But also that's wild, and rather disheartening, that that hack is apparently widely-spread enough that you're seeing it in your class :/
