Joseph's alleged comment to Mozart about the Entführung, "Too many notes", has been taken as evidence of his ignorance. But he probably said something like, "Too beautiful for our ears, and monstrous many notes." It is always necessary to bear in mind, when appraising the emperor's remarks, his peculiar brand of humor or sarcasm. He was usually getting at someone. And he did not use the royal "we". The ears in question were those of the Viennese audience, whom he was mocking for their limited appreciation of Mozart's elaborate music.

-Also speaking of Fritz, I was like "who is this old Prussian dude with dogs? Wait... that's FRITZ?!" IDK, it didn't fit any of my mental images of him! And was he that old? (*looks up* He was not that old!)

Hee, my reaction too! Although instead of looking up Fritz, since I knew his age, I looked up the actor to see how hold he was. :P

My conclusion was the same as Selena's: he's going to be the right age by the end of the season, in the Seven Years' War, so they just went for the same actor.

Speaking of: just checking that you're aware that (P)RussianPete dies at the end of the first season, so that's as far as you have to watch if you're only watching for him?

haha, I am aware! I would never even have considered watching a TV show in a relatively short timeframe, relevant to salon interests or not, if it was MORE than one season!

Okay, good! I had to ask: nothing about this interlude has convinced me that your judgment when it comes to realistic ficathon goals is any better than mine. :P And unlike when it's me in over my head, you don't have me to bail you out! :P

Oh, yeah, I have no realistic ficathon goals in terms of writing (I am such a slow writer, honestly that was reeeeeally unrealistic) but what I do have is a natural antipathy to thinking about watching lots of video all at the same time! There is no way I'd commit to watching three seasons of something in a short period of time sight unseen, relevant to salon or not! :)

(And even then even ten hours is rather unrealistic, though if I hadn't had this work deadline Id' forgotten to factor in, I probably could have at least watched them by now.)
