Because gorgeous and travel and Sanssouci, but also because the Antinous part of your comment and the reading of Fritz' various funeral instructions, including the way he referred to Sanssouci as "my garden" where he wanted to be buried (which made me realize that even the Flora statue on top of his grave makes a lot of sense in that nature context), just gave this impression of yearning to be at peace, somehow, somewhere.
If FW had known he could play the oboe (!!!!), he'd have been drafted to serve in FW's personal orchestra.

I knoooow. When I found out that he not only named his palace Sanssouci but then, of his grave, said he would be sans souci when he was there, my heart broke. He wanted to, but he didn't know how.
