Hmm... so maybe you should read The Dragon Waiting by John M. Ford. I honestly have no idea whether you would like it-- I adore Ford and will basically buy anything he writes (wrote), but I've had mixed success in recommending him to people. But if you like any of his work, it'll be this one-- an alternate Richard III (and you will like this Richard, and you'll be pleased at the solution to the Princes), an alternate Europe where Byzantium is the major power and Christianity is a minor cult, wizards... I'd say more but I don't want to spoil! (Though if you decide you don't like it and stop halfway through let me know and I'll tell you his "solution" :) )
