Oh, yeah, for sure I wouldn't recommend spending money on it. (I read library copies.) After thinking about it a bit, I realized that it's mostly book 2 I liked (a bit more political drama), after that it's all Achilles nonsense. And you've already read book 2, so never mind.
I'll just sum up books 3 and 4, shall I, so you don't have to read them?
As I remember, a) eventually (FINALLY) they kill Achilles, but not before setting up a hook for a sequel (Ender in Exile, which has basically no plot), b) Bean and Petra have some normal children and some mutant genius children, c) it turns out the mutation is eventually fatal, so Bean and the mutant genius children head off on a spaceship to try to cure their mutation (...or something? now that I write this, it makes no sense, huh?), thus setting off the sequel which I'm reviewing here, d) Bean thoughtfully divorces Petra before he leaves, so Petra and Peter get married and have non-mutant not-quite-as-genius children, and eventually die of old age.
Some other stuff may have happened, but that's basically it.
