I got recommended Whit Cat by another friend and it is currently sitting on my Kindle shelf. I'm currently reading A Love Story Starring my Dead Best Friend. I'm trying to only read books I think I can finish quickly o that nothing gets abandoned for Mockingjay in a couple of week's time.
I did read China Mieville's Kraken though, which I think that you'll enjoy.
