Seriously, what is up with Kate Murry being a particle physicist? That first shows up in Many Waters, where it’s essential to the plot because they time-travel on… unicorns that are also virtual particles? I think? And then it continues in An Acceptable Time, with no real explanation. I think there’s something about “well, she studies small things…” But small like mitochondria is different from small like electrons! Also, it seems kind of plausible that she might do microbiology experiments in her home lab, but not particle physics experiments. Like , “This is my Very Very Small Hadron Collider…”
