Some awesome historical RPF [personal profile] candyheartsex stories for meeeeee (or by me, in one tiny case) with historical characters! I'm just going to note whom the stories are about here. They are all so good!!

Anne Boleyn/Catherine of Aragorn
Frances Howard and Frances Coke (or: James I's court was basically a HOTBED of scandal, omg)

And two that are also historical RPF but also consistent with the Jude Morgan novel The King's Touch, which is an excellent historical novel narrated by James ("Jemmy") Scott, Duke of Monmouth, Charles II's illegitimate son.

Princess Henrietta of England (Charles II's sister and wife of Philippe I duc d'Orleans)
James of Monmouth/William/Mary

It's definitely "mit wahrer", not "wahren". Oh, and also: rt = Reichstaler, I presume? Anyway, here we go:

Noble Sir,
honored Mr. Secret Chamberlain,

among the papers Glasow left behind, there was a bill of Messieurs Girard Michelet & company for 358r.20g, which among other things includes an item of 28r 12 g for a box of Eaux de Senteur, sent by Monsieur Mettra on August 29th to the King's Majesty. As Gentz has told me that it seems likely to him that this item has been paid from the King's purse last year in the month of September, I beseech your Grace to have the kindness as to check the bills for the month of September for me, and possibly also of the following months, and to provide me with the needed information. Given the monetary value back then, the sum for the above named box should only haved accounted to 20 rt, which have been paid.
Incidentally, I'd like to know how how much of Monsieur D'Alembert's pension has been reimbursed in Paris to Messieurs Girard Michelet & Company? I have the honour of remaining with true respect,

your Grace,
mon tres cher ami etc.

I got one right! \o/ But I'm quite sure I got some ending wrong somewhere in the ~25 letters, so pleeease correct my errors when you see them.

Yep. And g = Groschen, I'm assuming.

I like the reference to inflation in the last several months. I suppose we can't blame Fritz for *all* of it, since war has that effect on prices anyway, but I imagine we can blame Fritz for 99% of it. ;)
