Also, this was a bit ago but while we're talking about Yuletide, I kept meaning to link this comment from FFA, which I find hilarious. The background is that someone is trying to explain why a person tagged in over 1,000 works in English on AO3 is not eligible for RPF in Yuletide:

I think because most RPF 'fandoms' as accepted - or even required - in yuletide are a temporary false construct for the purposes of yuletide. In ~the wild~, if you want to post fic about Frederick the Great of Prussia, you post it under 18th Century CE RPF. In yuletide, X Century RPF is deemed too broad, so you have to create 18th Century Frederician RPF, though you could equally have requested Frederick under Friends of Voltaire RPF, i.e. the 'fandom' is malleable.

I love that we are now the go-to fandom for explaining RPF in Yuletide!!

(I assume it was no one in salon who wrote this -- mildred doesn't go there, I almost never post there, it doesn't sound like

luzula (and the rest of the comment is about Hockey RPF which I don't think are your fandoms). My guess is that it was one of the Yuletide mods/AO3 tagmods that one of us is DW friends with.)

And that's hilarious; I remember how delighted we were when the mods first used us as an example in the admin community a couple of years back. As a small fandom, we definitely punch above our weight!

No, I didn't write that! As for rare RPF, I would love some BPC/O'Sullivan, based on the latter's memoirs. But it's not somethng that would really work to request for Yuletide, given that when I bought those memoirs, it was the only copy for sale on the whole internets that I could find! I mean, yes, there's university libraries, but still. I'll probably have to write it myself at some point.
