Last post, along with the usual 18th-century suspects, included the Ottonians; changing ideas of conception and women's sexual pleasure; Isabella of Parma (the one who fell in love, and vice versa, with her husband's sister); Henry IV and Bertha (and Henry's second wife divorcing him for "unspeakable sexual acts"). (Okay, Isabella of Parma was 18th century.)

Date: 2022-12-01 10:09 pm (UTC)I mean, I *did* go on about relatedness coefficients once, but that was because we were trying to quantify how inbred the Habsburgs were! And then there's that tab I have open with an article on history of the spread of malaria that I've been toying with writing up, even though it's both outside our period and would involve explaining some biology (which may be why I haven't gotten around to it)...
But yes! I will limit my biology contributions and try to keep the linguistic ones under control. (Cahn encouraged me with "Catholic", it's not (entirely) my fault!) Congrats on your microscopic findings, though!
Where did you learn biology via "salon" and does this "salon" still exist? Asking for a friend
who looks suspiciously like me. :PRe: Pornocracy
