Starting a couple of comments earlier than usual to mention there are a couple of new salon fics! These probably both need canon knowledge.

And you said nothing during the whole event? What restraint.

Not that I have emailed a Swedish newspaper when they got 18th century history wrong and explained it to them, or anything. (They described the reign of Charles XII as an age of rampant nationalism...)

Well, firstly, this wasn't an event where the audience would get to ask questions. The author/actor was interviewed on stage by the moderater in between reading excerpts from his novel. Now I could have later, when it was time for the book signing, stood in a queue and when it was my turn have delivered my historical corrections. But the autobiographical novel described his father as abusive, including some sexual molestation, which he and the moderator talked about on stage, and after that, saying "Btw, you got your Prussian history wrong" would have seemed incredibly petty. Still, I needed to vent in the safety on our online salon!

Ah, that makes sense. I suppose I would have exercised some restraint in your situation too. I have done the "well, actually" in the queue while the actor autographed the thing I'd brought him for signing, but that was all very light-hearted Star Trek canon.

I would have come to salon to vent too! And glad we are that you did. :)
