But once I was like, "no, Gideon isn't actually thinking about chocolates, someone translated it and that's the metaphor they chose to use instead of 'like garblgarbl in a xltin' which we wouldn't have understood," it became much more palatable :)
I think the author was in Homestuck fandom? I don't know anything about that fandom, but I've heard that if you do then it's easier to take.
