True, I hadn't picked up on that little detail in the sea of Fritz criticism out there. ;)


Ha. If you want to know the extent to which Manger is an outlier in the flood of publications after the the death des Einzigen Königs, look no further than the dedication of his building history of Potsdam. For the first volume of Manger's book opens with a dedication to FW2, and the words, after FW2's titles: "The first day of your royal majesty's glorious government was to me a day of supreme delight! For in place of the previous fears, I received the assurance of your highnesses mercy and favor."

The first day was, of course, the day Fritz died (early in the morning). Tell us how you really feel, Manger.
