I have always been really bad at TV, but the lockdown is making it so that I can actually get into a TV show and watch more than a season of it before wandering away. I mean, streaming proliferation was already helping, but 2020 was a step function for sure.
I also recently watched season 1 of She-Ra and really enjoyed it! In my case, I'd never seen the original (although I was a huge He-Man fan as a kid).
I did not realize the backstory was the same as in the original -- that's pretty impressive (although I'm not surprised, because JMS). I also kind of love Scorpia, and (less surprisingly) also love Entrapta -- the "kooky scientist turns evil" (yet again) aspect did bother me briefly, but she is such a delight, whatever side she's on, and Catra and Scorpia are so human and sympathetic, that it doesn't feel like a moral judgement or anything -- so I doesn't really bother me.
And that's really awesome that E is enjoying it too! Sharing a fandom (that the kid actually wants to talk about) is lovely!
