Re: Lehndorff readalong
Date: 2020-10-23 04:58 am (UTC)AHAHAHA. I was kind of like, "I notice you didn't actually say anything about PUTTING OUT THE FIRE," Lehndorff! Just "observing."
Other responses to mildred, carried over:
Life was so great for the patriarchs, who kept their families in a permanent state of total dependence on them and living in fear of their violence! Yeah, I'm sure it was great for the patriarchs. (I get that Lehndorff's saying he misses his family, but what a way to say it.)
Ha. I chalked this down to Lehndorff being kind of a huge snob, but... yeah.
Marschall has the pox, not the leaves.
Lol I'm glad you occasionally do glance at the English (though I don't expect it)! Also "bathroom." I mean, I can get the gist even with the mistranslations but it does sometimes become a bit nonsensical :)
It's 1753 and the Abbe de Prades is already suspected of being an informer? ([personal profile] cahn, it wasn't until 1757 that Fritz locked him up.
Ooooooh that's very interesting!
The people I like are great, but whenever Fritz appears, for some reason they freeze up and become completely boring until he leaves.
HAHAHAHA Lehndorff is great.
Oh, this is great, their reactions while the fire is raging:
OMG this was the best. Especially Reisewitz!
now he's hiding behind a house at Heinrich's departure because he can't bear to face him
I didn't remember this! This was AWESOME.
:D Lehndorff <3
