Also, I feel like the guy who's BFFs (or at least work-friends) with Maupertuis and who carries a torch for Fritz is noooot going to be the biggest fan of Voltaire during 1752.

Having read Orieux' magnum opus about Voltaire, I feel that both the majority of his friends and the majority of Fritz' friends were aghast about the respective other guy. Not in 1740 or 43, but certainly by 1750 - 53 and after.

Mind you, what I really want is the pov of the cook whom Voltaire gifted the "Age of Louis XIV" to when departing Prussia...
