G2 and Caroline were always more interested in the Fritz of Prussia/Amelia part anyway, given that they still hoped to SOMEHOW get the crown to Bill the Fave. Whether Fritz of Wales himself was interested - who knows. I mean, Wilhelmine was told he was, but sensibly doubted the sincerity of those messages as court talk.
Well, I was basing my idea of Fritz of Wales being potentially interested in Wilhelmine on Wikipedia, which reads:
George II was not keen on the proposal but continued talks for diplomatic reasons. Frustrated by the delay, Frederick sent an envoy of his own to the Prussian court. When the King discovered the plan, he immediately arranged for Frederick to leave Hanover for England.
So Fritz of Wales and Peter have that to bond over as well--having to go to England because of FW!
Either Trenck and Algarotti: lol! Would have to think about that one.
Prussian Trenck: escapes from Glatz in November 1746. Algarotti: is on his way from Italy to Prussia between December 1746 and March 1747. Is there any chance they crossed paths while they were on the move?
Algarotti was in Russia for about 6 weeks in June/July 1739, so Austrian Trenck's going to have to move fast if he wants to meet up with Algarotti. ;) Otherwise, it has to be AU. Was Austrian Trenck in St. Petersburg?
