Hm! Yes, I will look those up, thank you!! I'm always grateful for suggestions for her, as I haven't stayed very current on kids' books, and there's a limit to how much 80's-and-pre-80's fiction she's willing to put up with (although thankfully some these days).
Ha, I was just about the right age for Pike, although one of the few intelligent things I did was realize at some point that horror was Not Good for Me, and I only skimmed his stuff for the most part. (I could have saved myself a lot of trouble and sleepless nights had I realized the thing about horror earlier, though!)
