You know pretty much all my NIF opinions (except the spoilery ones) because I've been telling them to you as you go along, so I don't need to repeat them here. :) But I'm really happy you're enjoying it! And I really enjoy hearing your thoughts and feelings on this show.
(Also zdenka has had to put up with a whole bunch of my going "What?? She just went to the Inner Palace to see a sick lady and NEVER CAME OUT AGAIN?? gaaaaah!" This was revealed a bunch of episodes ago as a throwaway comment but I am still not over it!)
There is no putting up with! This is a completely reasonable thing to be disturbed by. I get the impression that she was supposed to be there for a while taking care of Consort Chen rather than, like, being kidnapped on an afternoon visit, but that doesn't make the whole "ooops, somehow she's a concubine now and not allowed to leave" thing any better.
I will have some fic recs for you when you finish the series. :)
