Ha, the technology gap! I hadn't thought about that. Yes, it must be much easier in general to find one's people these days -- I mean, that's why we're all here on DW, right? :) I wonder what it's like growing up like that!
That makes a lot of sense, about her other routes to connection (in England particularly) having challenges but being integrated in Wales. It still seems a little... narrowly-focused?... that all her connections when she's at school involve books. ...And now I'm thinking about how I am in several different communities but each of those communities is pretty separated from one another, like, there are maybe a couple of people at church who like SF but that's not generally what we talk about!
