Oh my goodness, can I read them ALL first? I remember the children's books fondly, and now that I'm reading your canon review, I'm realizing that there's probably very little of the supernatural element that was so prominent (for an eight-year-old reader of) the original kairos quartet. I think that's where I got bored with adult L'Engle as a kid.

I remember my mother and grandmother steering me away from House Like a Lotus as a teenager. That makes me want to go back to that one before anything else. I will take your advice and read Ring first! And now that I'm grown up, I can't very well continue whining that there are "too many Austins".
