Ahahahaha. When I did my own recent Alanna reread, it was finding out her cat also has violet eyes that precipitated my own falling-out-of-chair moment. Ah, the eighties!
Fire is definitely a bit simplistic and very YA-ish, if you know what I mean, but if you go in expecting that, I think it's quite good. But I'm an absolute sucker for relationships!
