Apr. 15th, 2020 10:38 pm-Happy Easter, only three days late? :P
-I thought, well, at least I didn't have to wrangle any Easter music for church, and then a member of the bishopric emailed me and was like, do you want to ask people from the ward to do music for Easter since we have this crazy musically talented ward? OK, I said, and emailed a bunch of people, and got a couple of response back, and I made the kids and I do a little number. (This was E's debut as a piano player -- she plays viola, and people know that, but she only recently started being good enough at piano that she can play hymns. A. conducted :) ) At this point I was totally embarrassed to watch the video and see that my bowing looks really cartoonishly bad. I managed to fix it so that it didn't look totally awful in the video and presumably people are watching my cute kids and not me, but I'm really embarrassed now because I think it's probably looked terrible for some time and I've been playing in public (at church, with E for a duet at her viola recital) and no one told me. (And I used to be decent at violin!)
Anyway, that aside, I spent waaaaaay too much time this weekend with technical issues (whyyyyy so hard to upload stuff??) but everyone really liked the three numbers that eventually ended up getting posted and I'm really glad we did it.
-have still been doing what for us is a lot of bike rides, at least every other day, 2-3 miles. Not a particularly good workout for E or me (we also go very slowly) but pretty good for A, and good for all of us to get outside. He wanted to know why he goes so much slower than his sister and I said a lot of it was training wheels, so now he wants them off and we might try that this weekend.
-Lots of vacuuming and laundry paid off in the sense that I have had no flea or other bites since my last post, and now I've been slacking off on both and it's still been OK. Yay!! The kids both had bites on their legs yesterday after standing in some grass for a while, so, yeah, there's clearly something in the grass around here and we should be careful when coming inside.
