Well, selenak had the same reaction I did, which was: you'd think that would be why, but it's probably just because it didn't involve Fritz. And even if it's boring Russian court intrigues that don't involve anyone anyone's ever heard of, I still want to know in general terms what Suhm was up to in Russia and what would keep him from writing to Fritz for 6 months! And if it's about his family, I *really* want to know!
(Speaking of what he was up to in Russia, I want to know if he had to attend the ice wedding and if so, what he thought. Oh, you know, I'm betting that he begged off for health reasons. It was Feb 1740, and he had himself declared an invalid even before he arrived in Russia, and then he his final illness hit before he left in August 1740 (to the point where he knew he shouldn't be traveling but set out anyway), and I'm sure he went, "Nope, can't be hanging out in ice palaces in Russia in February, sorry! Very fragile! FW, can you die already, I need to get tf out of here.")
