While telling this story to my wife (we were having "Kaphengst kommt" weather last week, with fallen leaves getting stirred up by strong winds), my inner twelve-year-old stumbled over "He was known for being a hard rider--well, in more than one sense of the word, possibly," and remembered to tell her that "hengst" means "stallion"! (As Google translate never tires of reminding us when it translates his name as Cape Stallion.)
