He really did go with her to church every Sunday, thus refuting, in public, the accusation that he was seducing her to godlessness and neglecting her Christian education (which would have ruined her marriage chances).

Why do you keep telling me all these endearing stories about him? This is a really endearing story :P

Before that, he'd always made an exception for his Jesuit teachers, whom he'd liked as much as he disliked his father, and had kept in contact with his favourite teachers. Who kept getting signed copies of his works and were in a strange mixture of pride and facepalm about young Arouet all the time.

And this <3 Heh, I can imagine his teachers' faces, lol.

(also, okay, I find Fritz paying a share of a nude Voltaire totally hilarious)
