I love Charles Williams very much!! I should warn you that he is also very odd and, well, was writing in the 1930's-1940's, and if you think Ford is bad about women... well, Charles Williams was really bad about women. (I read him in the 90's, where that kind of thing didn't bother me as much as it might now if I read it for the first time.) I actually wrote up a fandom promo post on Taliessin Through Logres for Yuletide before I decided I couldn't actually ask for it for Yuletide (what would I ask someone to write for it??) so I'll try to post that in the next day or two.

Eeeee, I am excited for your rereading and your mom! Tell her to feel free to comment!!

Knowing this going in is going to make it much easier the second time, I think, because a large part of my confusion was never knowing at what point I ought to stop putting pieces together, how big the structure of the thing I was reading was.

I was honestly a little surprised by how many things... never really showed up again, except as limited mentions. Like, there's this whole murder mystery in the middle of the book that as far as I can tell seems to only be there because Ford wanted to plot a locked room murder mystery! (Well, it has consequences for e.g. Cynthia's state of mind and getting Our Heroes together and on Hywel's side, but not very much for the overall plot. I think.)
