WAIT I knew about the existence of this from you but I thought it was a ~modern opera~ -- which I'm not opposed to in principle, I like modern music, but sometimes I feel like it's all trying so Hard and why can't we have more singspiels and, WELL. I just went and listened to "You are searching in vain for a bright line solution" OMG wow!
Yeah, I can totally see the Taymor working really well as a live production; I definitely have had my views changed on things like this, once I actually got to see it. One of these days I'll come visit you to go see an opera at the Met :P
