I recall reading Walton say somewhere that she writes prose by writing poetry with the line breaks taken out. Which, while that can be a good thing in some respects, I think might lead to some of the frustrations each of us see with her novels. I do enjoy her actual poetry though! And I've loved some of her novels too, like the one about the Victorian dragons.
