Okay, I've watched it now and I really liked it! Turns out I'd forgotten pretty much everything about it except the "rocks fall everyone dies" ending, so I got to discover it as I was watching. (Though after Act I paused it and found a plot summary to read because I wasn't sure who the letter was from.)
Nevers is the best. :(
I wrote down thoughts as I was watching (with pen and paper! like a very low-tech version of live-blogging) and I'll hopefully post that at some point when I get around to it.
