Yessss, Salzburg Germont unravels so deliciously -- and Hampson acts out falling apart so well <3
You're right, here's yet another Hampson which is the least hot I've ever seen him -- I think it's the combo of the thick coat and the mustache and that I feel like this Germont is awfully mean to poor Violetta -- even the duet is much more adversarial than I'm used to. (Perhaps especially in the next one up, (7), where he can't actually bring himself to give her a hug.) But even here the story arc in the music is still there...
