Hee. Yay! Our library has a somewhat poor selection of e-books and an even worse interface, which has slowed me down somewhat :)
Hm. Does it make a difference that you and I would be classified, in this narrative, as the second-class Sleepers and not the misunderstood genius kids? That being said, it's still rather satisfying, and I particularly enjoyed reading about the way Miri thought; I feel like generally I roll my eyes a bit when authors try to portray genius characters, but I bought that Miri thought about things fundamentally differently.
As far as I can see, Yagaiism is just Kress taking on Objectivism and poking holes in it (which was the point of seekingferret's post as well)... I always kind of marvel that there are Objectivists at all, as it seems to me that infants and toddlers are basically the refutation of the system... Anyway. On the other hand, it's interesting to me that the SuperSleepless proclaim themselves, at the end, as Yagaiists, even while presenting as "beggars." I suppose one could see it as a formalized way of declaring one's resolution to be responsible for one's own actions and upkeep when possible?
