AnhaltSophie is married to Heinrich and playing Game of Thrones, and Fritz marries (P)Russian Pete during the Seven Years' War, and then AnhaltSophie has Peter killed because of *handwaves* reasons, and then the war ends a year later and as part of the peace treaty, Fritz marries ViennaJoe and it's GAME ON for everyone and their ambitions.
arrrrgh I was going to say RMSE is just NOT catering to my likes because i don't really want particular relationships in general (I just like character-based exchanges), and I honestly really don't have slash relationships I care deeply about. BUT I would totally sign up for the chance of this :P Also Worldcon is not going to be held right at the same time as the due date, AND the due date is after my next big work deadline, so, ugh. Maybe :)
Oh I forgot I hadn't answered this! YES PLEASE. Fritz/Mike is great, Heinrich/Kaphengst would be fine too. Basically just Corporate AU with Heavy Doses of Less Slashy Stuff, works for me with any canon pairings you like. (Canon because it's not as funny otherwise :) )

Speaking of which, I've somewhat heavily implied (and was imagining) in the corporate AU that they're not brothers in this AU--is that a problem? Having everyone be as related as in real life is going to be harder to sell in the modern world. Though I could retcon those two specifically as brothers; there are definitely startups founded by siblings, and I've worked at one.

I feel like everything is funnier and more potentially laden with dysfunction if they're brothers! Like it's one thing if your boss is micromanaging you, and it's another if it's your boss and your brother who's micromanaging you. But I can see that it could also tip over into seriousness pretty easily, and maybe you don't want to get quite that seriously dysfunctional, so it's totally fine if they're not brothers.

The problem is that I don't know Joseph well enough to make him party to the main pairing, something I've been meaning to remedy, but wouldn't happen in time for this exchange. (Same reason I don't want to write Catherine/AnhaltSophie until I've had a chance to do more research.) (See, I knew salon would give my motivation a kick.)

But I will/would also ask for Peter, too, on mildred's behalf if she doesn't sign up. (Is it OK if you add mildred as a recip after the exchange is over? I would think so, along the same lines as declining a gift would also be fine after the exchange is over, though doing it during the exchange is likely to lead to wank.)

Yay! Since none of our Fredericians made it to reviewed status yet, I edited Fritz/Manteuffel in, since I have a vague idea for a "young Fritz and two Saxon sugar daddies" story. (Though don't worry, the Peter idea is far more definite and will be dealt with first.)
In related news, I went looking for books about Joseph that are 1) not too expensive, 2) in English, 3) available in the US, in the interests of actually being able to read one in 2021, and I was able to purchase a short volume by Tim Blanning for $15 that's supposed to arrive Friday. So no promises, but you can see me making an effort. :) (Fic aside, reading something about Joseph has been on my to-do list for quite a while, and Blanning's the best I can do on short notice. At the very least, his Fritz bio was eminently readable, and remains the best of the Fritz bios I've read, despite errors.)
Lord Hervey/Algarotti, which, if the muse strikes, might enable me to get a story about the triangle with Lady Mary in. Or just a story about Lady Mary and Algarotti in their final years in Italy meeting again, reminscing about Hervey, and with her quizzing him about Fritz (and teasing him about the fact he writes poems for both Fritz and MT, just in case, since this is during the 7 Years War). (Hey, if it's a crack fic, one could mention him posting the wrong poem to the wrong monarch.)
OK! Won't get to it tonight, but. uh. I spent a bit too much time today figuring out other pairings I might like in other fandoms, so I have a slate to do and will try to get it done in the next couple of days.
