(In theory, I'm perfectly capable of reading Stollberg-Rilinger, whose syntax is in fact easier than Horowski's; in practice, I lose motivation more easily than I would like. Horowski held my fascination all the way through, which motivated me to wrestle with the language.)

Well, except for the part where the narrative emphasis on that one was on the Fritz & MT and Heinrich & FS interactions and ViennaJoe only came in the last reel, which presumably would incense a recipient in a slahsh ficathon. :)

seriously if I sign up for this -- which I'm kind of vaguely thinking about doing if I can get nominations in, as I believe the timing doesn't line up to be as terrible as Unsent Letters (which I'm still bitter about, because I would have LOVED that exchange and I would have LOVED the fics you might have written for me) -- I would be so happy with all the plotty-and/or-crack fic in the world with lots of relationships of all flavors! But I will/would also ask for Peter, too, on mildred's behalf if she doesn't sign up. (Is it OK if you add mildred as a recip after the exchange is over? Oh I forgot I hadn't answered this! YES PLEASE. Fritz/Mike is great, Heinrich/Kaphengst would be fine too. Basically just Corporate AU with Heavy Doses of Less Slashy Stuff, works for me with any canon pairings you like. (Canon because it's not as funny otherwise :) )
IDK how I managed to get so far into this fandom and I don't actually have any OTPs???? Except MT/FS, but that's definitely not slash.

Yay! Since none of our Fredericians made it to reviewed status yet, I edited Fritz/Manteuffel in, since I have a vague idea for a "young Fritz and two Saxon sugar daddies" story. (Though don't worry, the Peter idea is far more definite and will be dealt with first.)

In related news, I went looking for books about Joseph that are 1) not too expensive, 2) in English, 3) available in the US, in the interests of actually being able to read one in 2021, and I was able to purchase a short volume by Tim Blanning for $15 that's supposed to arrive Friday. So no promises, but you can see me making an effort. :) (Fic aside, reading something about Joseph has been on my to-do list for quite a while, and Blanning's the best I can do on short notice. At the very least, his Fritz bio was eminently readable, and remains the best of the Fritz bios I've read, despite errors.)

Algarotti/Heinrich is nominated because it's the crack headcanon of mine that totally works in combination with other, more serious pairings as well as on its own. I mean: Algarotti/Heinrich one night stand might be a fun short story on its own, or it could work in combination with Fritz/Algarotti as a side issue of Algarotti venting his Fritz frustrations or preparing his Frexit or what not. (While Heinrich is totally game for this because a) Algarotti is a sexpot, and b) it'll annoy Big Brother. Also, depending on the timing of the one night stand, c) payback for Marwitz, or payback for the marriage enforcement.)

I feel like everything is funnier and more potentially laden with dysfunction if they're brothers! Like it's one thing if your boss is micromanaging you, and it's another if it's your boss and your brother who's micromanaging you. But I can see that it could also tip over into seriousness pretty easily, and maybe you don't want to get quite that seriously dysfunctional, so it's totally fine if they're not brothers.

Lord Hervey/Algarotti, which, if the muse strikes, might enable me to get a story about the triangle with Lady Mary in. Or just a story about Lady Mary and Algarotti in their final years in Italy meeting again, reminscing about Hervey, and with her quizzing him about Fritz (and teasing him about the fact he writes poems for both Fritz and MT, just in case, since this is during the 7 Years War). (Hey, if it's a crack fic, one could mention him posting the wrong poem to the wrong monarch.)

More seriously, I was planning on skipping RMSE, but it's not like I'm busy with German and being lured into RMSE; I'm not doing German anyway and am looking for something else to do so I don't burn out trying to force myself when I'm not feeling it.
As for sleep, weeeeell...on the one hand, it's less likely to get messed up than it was back in November, I've been "tired-but-functional" for almost 5 months now. On the other hand, because I'm now working 30 hours/week, it's more important that it not get messed up. So I might have to exercise more self-control about writing 30k plotty fics. Which might be A GOOD IDEA ANYWAY, ahem. :P

I think a lot of the humor comes from juxtaposing canon relationships or at least canon emotions with the crack AU. Well, within reason -- I see your point about it being hard to retain all the relationships, and e.g. if you retained Fritz and Heinrich's siblingship I could see Wilhelmine being a close friend or coworker. Or vice versa, but I think it's easier to see how to crackify the Fritz and Heinrich brother relationship than the Fritz and Wilhelmine brother-sister relationship in this context.
