Hmm, yeah, I think I do like that variant better. (I think Cotillion falls in that category, and it's one of the few romances I quite enjoy.) I'm not sure I've read it in a gay romance, though, so while I think I'd like it, I'm not sure. I'll have to keep an eye out.
