Thank you for exonorating Voltaire from having made that up. :) It adds yet another layer to the rivalry of the two Philiippes and fits with the eternal distrust of the main Bourbon line for the Orleans line. I guess even if Philippe the Regent’s second daughter would have had a different temper, her marrying Philip the Frog’s son would have been super awkward for the in-laws….
