Even with the books' flaws, that is 100% why I rolled my eyes (though no braid-tug) through the library copies that I read in high school and early college. At a certain point the worldbuilding seemed too big for Jordan to hold onto and I quit reading, but I liked the Aes Sedai, pettiness and all.
