This is all very interesting! Hahn sounds like he knows what he's talking about. (Which in this fandom is a super big compliment, hee.) ETA: I should have read further -- I am so behind! Guess I'll have to take this one back. And send Ziebura more flowers :P
(Which I note because one odd thing to me when I looked up reviews of the first volume’s republication in 2007 was that not a single review mentions the Heinrich aspect.)
whaaaat? but why else would you start reading these obviously there are more reasons to keep reading, but still
Hahn’s vote for best general of the 7 Years War goes to EC’s brother Ferd(inand) of Braunschweig.
This was one of the guys where EC got the Terrible Horrible Condolence Letters (TM) when he died, right?
Poniatowski’s memoirs really bear checking out.
Yeah, I've been wanting to do this for a while in case Poniatowski gets requested for YT again (surely we can manage one fic between us if we read his memoirs??) -- Mildred, is it possible for you to run it through your OCR/translation interface? https://archive.org/details/mmoiresdestanis00polagoog/page/n7/mode/2up
The left is Polish, but facing is the original French. On one hand the margins look fairly regular, yay, but on the other hand I bet the OCR will have more trouble with this than it did with your previous batch.
