HI!! :D Yes, absolutely, please join us! :D We would *love* to have you contribute to the discussion! And of course it can be at whatever level works for you!
I don't know how much you've looked at the "frederick the great" tag (here) but -- so, selenak and mildred_of_midgard are the history experts here; I knew zero about Fritz when this all started (like, I was vaguely aware he was King of Prussia?? At which point I was informed he was king IN Prussia at first, but anyway). So basically all of this started as mildred and selenak trying to educate me with many hilarious stories :D Then they started doing actual scholarship to get to the bottom of various biographer/historical claims, which has been amazing.
Many (many) thousands of words later, we decided forming rheinsberg would be a good way to organize and collate all this material which all of us were starting to have trouble keeping track of. (And because it might be easier for people to find -- so I'm very excited that you found it!) Right now we are sort of discussing things here first and then posting there after talking it through a little, though at this point I think partially from tradition (and a bit of worry that somehow we might lose the momentum if we change the way we do things too much).
Anyway, that was a very long-winded way of saying that all of this was never meant to be exclusive except in the sense that we weren't sure anyone else would be as interested :) (There are one or two other people whom I think drop in on these posts occasionally.) So welcome!! You do not currently have permission to post on rheinsberg itself (though of course you could comment) but that can easily be changed.
(Also! I know mildred_of_midgard has been salivating to get hold of the Electronic Enlightenment letter database! (and selenak and I as well, for that matter.) I mean, you would be welcome regardless, but that's definitely also exciting :) )

I know, right? We started with "Did you know Fritz put mustard in his coffee and wrote a poem about a guy's orgasm?" and have progressed to reading embassy reports to get to the bottom of things we're curious about. We've come a long way in a few short months. :D Truly, the alchemy is magical.
Many (many) thousands of words later
Currently 854,000! (gambitten, I'm crazy enough to keep track, using a script I wrote.)
(Also! I know [personal profile] mildred_of_midgard has been salivating to get hold of the Electronic Enlightenment letter database! I mean, you would be welcome regardless, but that's definitely also exciting :) )

Yes to all of the above!
