Ha, I was just about the right age for Pike, although one of the few intelligent things I did was realize at some point that horror was Not Good for Me, and I only skimmed his stuff for the most part. (I could have saved myself a lot of trouble and sleepless nights had I realized the thing about horror earlier, though!)
