WELL YES Obviously I hope it will be the WINNER but, you know, as much as I think it is an utterly brilliant novel that totally deserves all the awards, I also recognize that it's the sort of book that won't be up everyone's alley and I don't want to make assumptions about what kind of broader appeal it might actually have...

OH YEAH I forgot that Raven Tower was this year! Yes it can definitely go on a shortlist for the awards too.

I don't think I realized Datt Sharma had published anything beyond the brilliant Sing for the Coming of the Longest Night, I'll have to add that short story collection to my to-read list!

Jo Walton's latest book Lent just came out like....in the last week or so I think? I've more or less stopped reading Walton though after realizing that her endings are almost always disappointing.
