I've always avoided reading these kind of books, even when they come highly recommended, it feels like it would be too raw. But it's interesting to hear that this one got the emotions and a lot of the types of situations you deal with right. The biggest reason I don't read them is that I think it would drive me up the wall if the author got that part of it wrong. I do read memoirs sometimes, I think it's easier because there isn't a story and an ending that's supposed to make emotional sense or have problems resolved, it's just someone's life, how it went.
And I'm glad to hear that E's coping so well at the moment. I've told two people lately that Philomythulus is doing well, and after each time he had a massive meltdown the next day, so I won't risk saying that again but he is, it's so lovely, he's such a sweetheart right now, we're in that older boy sweet spot where small-child wildness is wearing off and teenage hormones haven't kicked in yet.
